Consecutive Interpreting

Consecutive interpreting means the speaker pauses between spoken phrases to allow to interpret his speech. In other words, the interpreter first hears a phrase in one language, and then translates it into another. This is a common and standard form of interpretation that is widely used for:

• Business interactions and negotiations;
• Presentations and press conferences;
• Seminars, trainings and other educational events;
• Exhibitions, conventions and excursions.

In the process of delivering a consecutive interpretation, a client can provide the most important facts and arguments to be translated in printed format. As part of our commitment to professionalism, our translators may request in advance of the start of a project to familiarize themselves with the material for the upcoming conversation or negotiation in order to more fully conceptualize its themes and possible flow.

In addition to having a high level of expertise in the required language, our interpreters also demonstrate an exceptional knowledge in the particular subject field and advanced comprehension skills in the foreign language. Furthermore, our interpreters must demonstrate good endurance, self-confidence when presenting before an audience, a clear vocal tone and pronunciation, tactfulness, a pleasant and professional appearance and many other required communication qualities and abilities.
